Job summary

DTE Energy seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale capital construction programs across the company. You will direct multi-disciplinary teams, ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget goals, and provide reliable cost forecasting and progress updates to executives.

Responsibilities include negotiating complex contracts, coordinating with stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining operations without interruption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of project management experience, including 3 years in leadership.
• PMP certification required or to be obtained within one year of entry.
• Continued employment contingent on PMP certification.

Responsibilities

• Leads teams of project managers, supervisors, contractors and support staff for multiple capital projects.
• Manages safety, quality, schedule and financial results across projects.
• Negotiates complex construction contracts with large vendors.
• Provides strategic input on planning, budgeting and continuous improvement.
• Delivers regular progress reports, cost forecasts, and risk assessments.
• Ties together stakeholders to coordinate contingencies and sequencing.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering / engineering technology / architecture / construction management / project management

Associate degree in engineering / engineering technology / architecture / project management / construction management

High School Diploma with 14 years relevant project management experience

PMP Certification (required or within 1 year of entry)
