Job summary

DTE Energy in Detroit seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead planning, management, and execution of large-scale capital projects across the corporation. You will optimize value, ensure safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets, and coordinate with stakeholders.

The role demands strong leadership, vendor contract negotiation, and adherence to project management standards; PMP certification is required or obtained within a year. Hybrid work with in-person requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with PMP certification or eligible to obtain within 1 year.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on large capital projects.
• Strong contract negotiation, vendor management, budgeting and risk management skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads teams of project managers, supervisors, and contractors on multiple capital projects; ensures safety, quality, schedule and cost targets.
• Manages portfolio teams, secures labor, and trains staff to execute projects effectively.
• Negotiates complex construction contracts and oversees contract performance.
• Supports senior management with strategic planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement.
• Delivers major capital projects without interrupting operations; coordinates with stakeholders on contingencies.
• Provides regular progress reports with KPIs, risks, delays, disputes, and forecasts.
