Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Simi Valley is seeking a senior product marketing owner for the Loitering Munitions/Precision Strike franchise.

You will own positioning, messaging, launches, and sales enablement across the portfolio, reporting to the VP of Marketing & Communications. This senior IC role embeds in the business unit, driving evidence-based narratives, export-conscious localization, and cross-functional launch execution to move capture outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of civilian work experience.
• 8+ years in product marketing within enterprise software or hardware for defense/dual-use tech.
• Ownership of a product line or portfolio at $100M+ revenue scale.
• Fluency in DoD acquisition dynamics: program lifecycles, POM, primes vs non-traditional entrants, FMS/DCS.
• Demonstrable positioning craft with a documented asset set and impact.
• Ability to operate within export control, classification, and public-release constraints.
• Self-directed operator with executive-level accountability and minimal day-to-day direction.
• Proven ability to earn trust of technical and program stakeholders and partner with BU rhythm.
• Commutable distance from AV Simi Valley Campus.

Responsibilities

• Build deep, trusted relationships with BU leadership, program managers, capture leads, and engineering.
• Partner with product managers on roadmap milestones, launch readiness, claims substantiation, and customer evidence.
• Embed in the BU's operational cadence to set marketing priorities from inside the business.
• Own positioning architecture for LMS/Strike portfolio with evidence-based claims.
• Own brand positioning and messaging architecture tied to operational outcomes.
• Consolidate voice of customer inputs for MarCom, Product and BD strategy; maintain Buyer/User personas.
• Translate mission outcomes into customer-facing narratives for external audiences.
• Deliver export-aware localized positioning for priority allied regions within ITAR/export-control boundaries.
• Run AV’s tiered product launch framework with cross-functional teams; own launch content and claims accuracy.
• Support ongoing campaigns using AV’s integrated campaign model.
• Build and maintain enablement stack: battlecards, proof library, and demo messaging.
• Deliver localization for key allied regions.
