Job summary

Strategic Education, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Product Manager for Sophia Learning to lead the product design and research vision across the platform. You will own the strategy, drive AI-enabled features, and personally contribute to research and design work to ensure a user-centric, scalable product ecosystem.

You will mentor PMs, partner with data science and engineering, and align executive priorities with customer insights to deliver measurable impact and responsible AI design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, CS, Engineering, Data Science, Learning Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Proven track record leading product design initiatives including customer-facing AI initiatives.
• Experience with cloud data ecosystems (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and modern data/AI tools; collaboration with data science and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the multi-year product strategy for the user experience of Sophia’s online learning platform.
• Establish and lead a continuous discovery and user research practice (interviews, usability testing, surveys, journey mapping).
• Guide the organization’s AI product vision and roadmap with engineering, data science, and product leaders.
• Lead initiatives to embed ML, NLP, and generative AI into core Sophia Learning applications.
• Serve as strategic advisor translating research into business value and portfolio decisions.
• Establish design best practices and review mechanisms for consistent quality.
• Own end-to-end experiences across learner, partner, and administrative workflows; ensure design intent reaches production with accessibility standards.
• Oversee scalable design system governance and agentic development readiness.
• Partner with Engineering, Data/Analytics, and AI teams to implement UX success metrics and experimentation frameworks.
• Mentor and coach other Product Managers to elevate design thinking and customer-centricity.
• Represent Sophia Learning as an industry thought leader in AI for online learning and data-driven experiences.
