Job summary

Howard Building Corporation in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Project Manager to lead fast-paced commercial interiors projects from preconstruction through turnover. You’ll collaborate with clients, architects, superintendents, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep projects well planned, on budget, and on schedule.

This role emphasizes financial management, communication, leadership, and proactive problem solving when construction diverges from the plan.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Commercial GC experience required.
• Tenant improvement, commercial interiors, renovation, or occupied-space experience strongly preferred.
• Strong financial, estimating, scheduling, and contract-management skills.
• A communicator who is comfortable with clients and subcontractors.
• Ability to manage details while seeing the big picture.
• Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft 365, and construction scheduling/project management experience.
• Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related degree preferred; equivalent experience counts.

Responsibilities

• Lead tenant improvement projects from preconstruction through turnover and closeout.
• Manage project budgets, estimating, buyout, forecasting, billings, and cost control.
• Coordinate schedule with the Superintendent and project team.
• Manage subcontracts, procurement, RFIs, submittals, change management, and documentation.
• Foster client, architect, consultant, landlord, and subcontractor relationships.
• Mentor and develop APMs, Project Engineers, and team members.
• Ensure safety, quality, and project closeout.
