Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Plumbing Project Engineer to serve as technical lead for plumbing design across building systems.

This role combines design responsibility with project coordination, client communication, and mentoring of junior staff. You’ll lead design from concept through construction administration, coordinate with other disciplines, and develop detailed drawings for water, sanitary, storm, and specialty systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or closely related field.
• PE or CPD preferred.
• 8–12+ years of plumbing design experience.
• Experience leading plumbing design on multi-discipline projects.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and commercial design practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing system design from concept to construction administration for various building types.
• Develop calculations, specifications, drawings, and details for water, sanitary, storm, and specialty systems.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP disciplines for integrated delivery.
• Serve as technical resource for clients, teams and junior staff.
• Review scope, budget and schedule; manage deliverables to meet client expectations.
• Perform field observations and construction administration as needed.
• Mentor engineers and designers; contribute to QC and technical development.
• Participate in meetings, client presentations and business development.
