Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Plumbing Project Engineer to act as a technical lead and driver for plumbing design across diverse building projects. You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and support client communications from concept to construction.

The role requires an engineering degree, 8–12+ years of plumbing design experience, and proficiency with Revit. This position offers a path to growth within a nationally recognized firm and a hybrid work

Qualifications

Bachelor's or associate degree in mechanical/architectural engineering or related field.
Licensed PE or CPD preferred.
8–12+ years of plumbing design experience in consulting engineering/A&E.
Experience leading plumbing design on multi-discipline projects.
Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and standard practices for commercial buildings.
Proficiency with Revit and industry coordination tools.
Strong communication and ability to work across project teams.
Experience supporting proposals, scoping, and project planning is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead plumbing system design for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and other building projects from concept through construction administration.
Develop calculations, specifications, drawings, and details for potable water, sanitary, storm drainage, and specialty systems.
Coordinate plumbing with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.
Serve as a technical resource for clients and project teams throughout all project phases.
Review scope, budget, and schedule to meet client expectations and deliverables.
Perform field observations and conditions evaluations as needed.
Mentor junior engineers and designers and contribute to quality control.
Participate in project meetings, client presentations, and business development activities.
