Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer to lead design teams on mission-critical data center projects in Fort Worth, TX. You will guide plumbing design from concept through construction, ensuring code compliance, QA/QC, and client satisfaction.

The role requires ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering training, 7+ years of plumbing experience, and strong leadership skills; FE/PE is preferred. Travel up to 25% and collaboration across disciplines are key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET program; 7 years plumbing experience.
• FE exam completed; 7 years plumbing experience.
• Master degree in Mechanical Engineering; 6 years experience.
• EPC project experience preferred.
• PE license preferred.
• CPD certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Review vendor drawings and data interfaces; coordinate with clients and other disciplines.
• Prepare equipment specifications, RFQs, and data sheets; assist in selections.
• Quality review of drawings and field coordination for QA/QC.
• Mentor plumbing staff and develop team; lead cross-functional collaboration.
• Support sales/marketing in pursuing opportunities and cost proposals.
• Ensure compliance with codes, safety policies, and project budgets.
