Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer to lead plumbing design on mission-critical data center projects. You will guide project teams through design and construction, ensuring code compliance and high-quality documentation.

The role requires ABET-accredited mechanical engineering education, FE exam, and strong communication skills, with travel across the country. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, manage schedules and budgets, and prepare technical reports for

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree; FE exam completed; several years in plumbing engineering.
• Master's in Mechanical Engineering preferred with strong plumbing knowledge.
• Professional Engineer license preferred; CPD certification helpful.
• Experience with EPC projects; strong knowledge of ASPE, IPC, UPC codes.
• Strong communication, leadership and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel locally and nationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing design for projects from concept through design completion.
• Manage project scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning.
• Prepare equipment specifications, RFQs, and technical bid summaries.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers and other disciplines.
• Perform QA/QC on drawings and project data.
• Lead site inspections and coordinate with field teams.
• Provide technical reports and client communication.
