Job summary

Salas O’Brien, an employee-owned engineering firm, seeks a Senior Plumbing Engineer in Charlotte, NC to design, evaluate, and plan plumbing systems for healthcare, Federal, industrial, municipal, and commercial projects.

The role requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, NC PE or eligibility within 6 months, 15+ years of design experience, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office. LEED/ASSE 6060 is a plus; US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Active Professional Engineering license in North Carolina, or eligible within 6 months.
• Minimum of 15 years design experience.
• LEED certification/experience is a plus, CPD is preferred.
• Experience with laboratories/medical facilities design is preferred, ASSE 6060 certification is a plus.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.
• Excellent work ethic and attitude.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.
• Must be a US Citizen.

• Design performance specification for fire protection systems.
• Develop systems design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings.
• Be responsible for code compliance research.

Job Summary:

Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
