Job summary

Salas O'Brien in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to provide design, evaluation, and planning of plumbing systems for healthcare, Federal, industrial, municipal, and commercial projects.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years design experience, and an active NC PE or the ability to be licensed within 6 months. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office is required; LEED/ASCE6060 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Active Professional Engineering license in North Carolina or ability to be licensed within 6 months.
• Minimum of 5 years design experience.
• LEED certification/experience is a plus, CPD is preferred.
• Experience with laboratories/medical facilities design is preferred, ASSE 6060 certification is a plus.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing systems; familiarity with medical/laboratory piping and gases is a plus.
• Design performance specification for fire protection systems.
• Develop systems design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings.
• Be responsible for code compliance research.

Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
