Salas O’Brien in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Plumbing Engineer to design and develop plumbing systems for commercial buildings, including laboratories and medical facilities.

You will oversee drawings, specifications, lead project teams, and serve as primary client contact, while developing calculations and procurement specs.

Must have 10+ years' experience and a BS in Mechanical Engineering; experience with labs/medical facilities; strong communication and leadership.

Job Summary:

The Senior Plumbing Engineer serves to design and develop plumbing systems for use in commercial buildings.

In this role, you will:

• Design plumbing systems including medical/laboratory piping and gases.
• Oversee the preparation of technical drawings, specifications of plumbing systems and topographical maps.
• Lead project teams and serve as the primary contact for discipline with clients
• Prepare specifications for purchases of materials and equipment.
• Develop calculations for plumbing systems and associated controls.

You will be a great fit if:

• You have a minimum of 10+ years of experience.
• You have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• You have thorough knowledge of plumbing design and corresponding terminology.
• You have experience with laboratories/medical facilities design.
• You have an excellent work ethic and attitude.

Skills/abilities:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office
• Ability to successfully lead teams and manage projects
• Excellent ability to read, interpret and implement plumbing design documentation.
• Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize work.
