Job summary

Interface Engineering is seeking a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer (MEP) in Los Angeles, CA, on a hybrid schedule with two days in-office per week. You will lead plumbing design across projects, mentor staff, and coordinate with the MEP team to deliver high-performance, code-compliant systems.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in MEP plumbing design, strong leadership and PM skills, and solid IPC/UPC/IBC knowledge. PE licensure and LEED accreditation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting.
• Strong leadership/management experience.
• Project management experience in the MEP space.
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards.
• Thorough understanding of building codes.

Responsibilities

• Plumbing system selection, engineering and design.
• Prepare plumbing drawings, sketches, analyses, specs and calculations.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication.
• Provide management and oversight of plumbing design staff.
• Provide construction administration and site observations.
• Deliver exemplary service and support to team and clients.
• Support overall project management for the MEP team.

Key Responsibilities

As aSenior Plumbing Design Engineer at Interface, you will be taking ownership as a discipline leader on multiple projects. Your duties will include, but may not be limited to:

• Responsibility for plumbing system selection, engineering & design
• Preparation of Plumbing drawings, sketches, analysis, specifications, and calculations
• Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Providing management and oversight of plumbing design support staff
• Providing construction administration & site observations related to your projects.
• Delivering exemplary service and support to team members and clients.
• Supporting overall project management to our MEP team leaders.

What You'll Bring:

Required

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience equivalent to a degree.
• 10+ years' experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting
• Team leadership/management experience
• Project management experience in the MEP space
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards
• Complete understanding of building codes
• Thorough design system knowledge

Preferred

• A Professional Engineering License (or equivalent experience)
• CPD Certification
• LEED® Accreditation
• Working Autodesk® REVIT knowledge
