Interface Engineering Inc. in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer (MEP) to lead plumbing design on multiple projects in a hybrid schedule, with two in-office days per week minimum. You will own the discipline, develop drawings, and ensure code-compliant design across projects.

You’ll mentor staff, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and drive project success on a global scale, supported by ESOP, robust benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience equivalent to a degree.
• 10+ years' experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting.
• Team leadership/management experience.
• Project management experience in the MEP space.
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards.
• Complete understanding of building codes.
• Thorough design system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own plumbing design as discipline leader on multiple projects.
• Prepare plumbing drawings, sketches, specifications, and calculations.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication.
• Provide management and oversight of plumbing design staff.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer at Interface, you will be taking ownership as a discipline leader on multiple projects. Your duties will include, but may not be limited to:

• Responsibility for plumbing system selection, engineering & design
• Preparation of Plumbing drawings, sketches, analysis, specifications, and calculations
• Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Providing management and oversight of plumbing design support staff
• Providing construction administration & site observations related to your projects.
• Delivering exemplary service and support to team members and clients.
• Supporting overall project management to our MEP team leaders.

What You’ll Bring:

Required

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience equivalent to a degree.
• 10+ years' experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting
• Team leadership/management experience
• Project management experience in the MEP space
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards
• Complete understanding of building codes
• Thorough design system knowledge

Preferred

• A Professional Engineering License (or equivalent experience)
• CPD Certification
• LEED® Accreditation
• Working Autodesk® REVIT knowledge
