Job summary

Interface Engineering, Inc. in Sacramento seeks a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer (MEP) to lead plumbing design on multiple projects. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration with work-from-home days, aligning with our Collaboration from Home policy.

You will own the plumbing discipline, mentor staff, and coordinate with the broader MEP team to deliver high-performance, code-compliant systems. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in MEP plumbing design, a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent),

• Project management experience in the MEP space
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards
• Complete understanding of building codes

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer at Interface, you will be taking ownership as a discipline leader on multiple projects. Your duties will include, but may not be limited to:

• Responsibility for plumbing system selection, engineering & design
• Preparation of Plumbing drawings, sketches, analysis, specifications, and calculations
• Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Providing management and oversight of plumbing design support staff
• Providing construction administration & site observations related to your projects.
• Delivering exemplary service and support to team members and clients.
• Supporting overall project management to our MEP team leaders.

What You’ll Bring:

Required

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience equivalent to a degree.
• 10+ years' experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting
• Team leadership/management experience
• Project management experience in the MEP space
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards
• Complete understanding of building codes
• Thorough design system knowledge
• Commuting distance to Chicago, IL

Preferred

• A Professional Engineering License (or equivalent experience)
• CPD Certification
• LEED® Accreditation
• Working Autodesk® REVIT knowledge
