Job summary

SOCOTEC is actively seeking a Senior Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in our Mechanicsburg, PA office to provide QA oversight and advisory leadership for the Survey Department. This role focuses on signing and sealing survey deliverables, maintaining high technical standards, and supporting business development across transportation and land development projects.

You will mentor field crews and office staff, drive QA/QC practices, ensure PA and neighboring states’ compliance, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of progressive surveying experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Pennsylvania (required).
• Proficiency with Carlson, Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D; AutoCAD/Civil 3D; MicroStation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop junior survey staff and field crews.
• Establish and maintain department standards, procedures, and QA/QC practices.
• Provide responsible charge and signing/sealing of survey deliverables.
• Oversee preparation and review of boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and as-built surveys.
• Ensure PA standards and PennDOT requirements compliance; coordinate with engineering and environmental teams.
• Support PennDOT and municipal project requirements; assist with proposals and fee estimates.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and identify growth opportunities.
