Job summary

SOCOTEC Global in Mechanicsburg, PA seeks an experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to provide QA oversight and advisory support for our Survey Department. This senior role involves signing and sealing surveys, ensuring technical quality, and supporting business development on transportation and land development projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 8+ years of progressive surveying experience, with leadership responsibilities.
• Proficiency with Carlson, Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D; AutoCAD/Civil 3D; MicroStation; GPS and data collection tools.

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior survey staff, including field crews and office personnel.
• Establish and maintain department QA/QC standards, procedures, and practices.
• Provide responsible charge and signing/sealing of survey deliverables.
• Oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and as-built surveys.
• Ensure compliance with PA standards and PennDOT requirements; coordinate with other teams.
• Support PennDOT and municipal project requirements; assist with proposals and fee estimates.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and identify growth opportunities.
