Job summary

SOCOTEC seeks an experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to provide QA and advisory oversight from our Mechanicsburg, PA office. This senior role signs and seals survey deliverables, mentors staff, and supports business development across transportation and land development projects.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of surveying experience, PA PLS license, and strong knowledge of PennDOT standards, with proficiency in Carlson, Trimble BC, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of progressive surveying experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of boundary law and surveying principles.
• Familiarity with Pennsylvania survey standards and PennDOT requirements; surrounding states a plus.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop junior survey staff and field crews.
• Establish and maintain department QA/QC standards and procedures.
• Provide responsible charge and signing/sealing of survey deliverables.
• Oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and as-built surveys.
• Coordinate with engineering and environmental teams on multidisciplinary projects.
• Support PennDOT and municipal project requirements.
• Assist with proposals, scope development, and fee estimates.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and identify growth opportunities.
