Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking a seasoned Professional Land Surveyor to lead QA oversight in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. The role emphasizes signing and sealing survey plans, ensuring technical quality, and supporting business development across transportation and land development projects.

The candidate will mentor staff, maintain department QA/QC standards, and coordinate with engineering teams on multidisciplinary projects while expanding client relationships and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of progressive surveying experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of boundary law and surveying principles.
• Familiarity with Pennsylvania survey standards and PennDOT requirements; surrounding states a plus.
• Proficiency with survey software (Carlson, Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D).

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop the junior survey staff, including field crews and office staff.
• Assist to establish and maintain department standards, procedures, and QA/QC practices.
• Provide responsible charge and signing/sealing of survey deliverables.
• Oversee preparation and review of boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and as-built surveys.
• Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania standards and client requirements, as well as neighboring states.
• Coordinate with engineering and environmental teams on multidisciplinary projects.
• Support PennDOT and municipal project requirements.
• Assist with proposals, scope development, and fee estimates.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and identify growth opportunities.
