Job summary

Metra is seeking a Sr. Configuration Management Specialist to lead PLM system administration and CM activities. You will implement processes, coordinate with multiple departments and vendors, and ensure baseline configurations and status reporting across PLM platforms.

The role requires strong communication, analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with potential travel within the six-county region. Flexible hours may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or STEM, or four years in engineering/IT system support.
• Five years of experience in configuration or systems administration.
• Knowledge of CM tools, concepts, principles and techniques.
• Knowledge of configuration planning and controls.
• Knowledge of CM contract requirements, specs and deliverables.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite.
• Proficiency in Bentley ProjectWise and AssetWise or similar PLM systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with a team.
• Willingness to travel within Metra's 6-county region.
• Ability to work flexible hours including early morning, late afternoon, evenings, or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance and support for the PLM system and CM activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors on automated system changes including PTC.
• Develop and implement processes and workflows; establish baselines and generate reports.
• Review and manage system upgrades, configurations, and changes; ensure policy adherence.
• Serve as PLM system administrator and vendor liaison for users and administration.
• Coordinate day-to-day team activities, assign tasks, monitor performance, and train.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
