Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced analog/RF IC design engineer to lead PLL and clock distribution design for high-speed RF/mmWave applications. You will own block-level design, verification, and tape-out readiness, collaborating with RF and SOC teams.

This onsite role in the US requires 10+ years in PLL design, a bachelor’s in EE, and expertise with Spectre, MATLAB, AMS, and SystemVerilog. Relocation support is available; U.S. citizenship or eligible status is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in high-speed (>20GHz) PLL design and LO generation for RF/mmWave.
• Expert in loop design for phase noise, jitter, spur, power and area optimization.
• Proficient in PLLs and clock distribution for wireless and wireline systems.
• Experience with clock-domain synchronization in multi-PLL systems.
• Fundamental understanding of device physics for process selection.
• Proficient in mixed-signal RF modeling, simulation and verification (MATLAB, Spectre, SystemVerilog, AMS).
• Extensive PLL silicon characterization and debugging experience.
• Knowledge of analog/RF building blocks (amplifiers, filters, mixers, multipliers).
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and integration of PLLs and clock distribution in advanced CMOS.
• Utilize Spectre and AMS flows to develop high-performance PLL circuits.
• Collaborate with RF and SOC architects to define PLL requirements for RF payloads.
• Oversee layout, top-level integration, floorplanning and tape-out readiness.
• Develop test plans with validation and product engineers; optimize performance and yield.
• Mentor junior engineers on best analog design practices.
