Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an IC Design Engineer to advance PLL and clock distribution circuits in advanced CMOS processes. You will own system-level design, collaborate across RF and SOC teams, and drive tape-out readiness through layout, verification, and test planning.

A strong mix of analog and RF expertise is required. The role emphasizes leadership, problem-solving, and mentoring, with onsite work across CA sites or WA, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in design and development of fractional-N PLLs, DLLs, and sub-circuits in FinFET CMOS nodes (7n+).
• Experience designing PLL blocks: VCOs, pre-scalers, PFDs, charge-pumps.

Responsibilities

• Own system and circuit design of PLLs and clock distribution in advanced CMOS tech.
• Develop high-performance PLL circuits using Spectre and AMS flows.
• Collaborate with RF and SOC teams to define PLL requirements.
• Oversee layout, integration, floorplanning, and verification for tape-out.
• Develop test plans with validation and production teams; improve performance and yield.
• Investigate analog blocks to improve circuit performance.
• Mentor junior engineers on analog design best practices.
