Job summary
Endurance IT Services is seeking an experienced Process Control Engineer for a client in Newport News, VA. The role centers on PLC programming, troubleshooting, and control optimization to support critical operations.
You will work with SCADA, HMI, instrumentation, and legacy systems during modernization efforts, ensuring reliable operations and implementing automation solutions across facilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or related technical field, plus 5+ years in industrial automation/processing control.
- Hands-on PLC programming, troubleshooting, maintenance experience.
- Strong SCADA and HMI development experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, configure, test, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems.
- Support SCADA systems, data collection, alarms, and operator interfaces.
- Develop and optimize process control strategies for efficiency and reliability.
- Configure and support HMI applications, RTUs, instrumentation, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex process control and communications issues across facilities.
- Support modernization initiatives and system upgrades.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and vendors to implement improvements.
- Maintain documentation, backups, standards, and change records.
- Assist migration from legacy platforms including OpenVMS.
