Job summary

ZT Systems is seeking an Automation Controls Technician to support the Advanced Automation Infrastructure team in Secaucus, NJ. You will diagnose and repair PLCs, HMIs, I/O, sensors, networks, and safety systems to keep production moving.

With 6+ years in automated manufacturing and a technical trade certification, you’ll own PLC/HMI configurations, backups, and preventive maintenance while partnering with OEMs and engineering to drive reliability improvements and rapid root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Six+ years in automated manufacturing with a technical credential.
• Deep expertise in PLCs, HMIs, sensors, I/O, networks and safety circuits.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex controls failures across field devices to PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as owner for PLC, HMI, electrical controls, sensors, I/O and networks.
• Troubleshoot complex controls issues to rapidly restore equipment.
• Maintain PLC/HMI programs, backups, documentation and recovery files.
• Develop spare parts strategy and preventive maintenance program.
• Collaborate with OEMs, integrators, and engineering to implement improvements.
• Analyze downtime data to identify root causes and reliability gains.
