Scale is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our product engineering team and help design, build, and commission microgrids. You will join a hybrid schedule from one of our offices in Oakland, Santa Monica, Ridgewood, or NYC, reporting to the CTO.

Key duties include developing PLC-based control systems, selecting hardware, and producing engineering documentation. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in control loop design, experience with batteries, solar, generators, and switchgear, and a BS in

• PLC programming and controls engineering experience.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and program PLC-based electrical control systems.
• Read, understand, and develop control system design documents (Functional Specifications, User’s Manual, and engineering reports).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical control systems to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
• Design and manage site-level microgrid networks and security.
• Perform risk assessments and implement safety measures to ensure safe operation of control systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external vendors to resolve system issues.
• Support cybersecurity efforts to ensure secure, reliable controls.
• Learn scales’ microgrid controls and tailor them for each project.
