Job summary

Divcon Controls seeks a Senior PLC Control Technician to lead commissioning activities for large-scale PLC projects and troubleshoot advanced PLC and networking systems in active environments.

You will mentor field technicians, coordinate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure startup success, validate PLC/SCADA integration, and deliver accurate documentation across commissioning records.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience with PLC systems in industrial, construction, or building automation environments.
• Expert-level proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, with strong working knowledge of Siemens and Schneider Electric systems.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required, approximately 85%.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities for large-scale or technically complex PLC projects.
• Troubleshoot advanced PLC logic, distributed I/O, field instrumentation, processor/controller issues, and SCADA/HMI integration problems in active environments.
• Configure, test, and validate PLC processor redundancy and high-availability deployments.
• Configure, test, and validate industrial communication protocols (Modbus/IP, Modbus/UDP, EtherNet/IP, BACnet, MQTT, OPC UA).
• Integrate PLC systems with SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition, FactoryTalk) and ensure accurate mapping and alarms.
