Job summary

Syncwell Infotech is seeking a Test Architect with Playwright to lead automation strategy and framework design from the trenches up. This hands-on role requires building scalable Playwright architectures, integrating them into CI/CD processes, and mentoring automation engineers across distributed teams.

You will drive cross-browser, parallel, and headless testing while promoting best practices and measurable quality across projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in automation engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript mandatory; Java or Python is a plus).
• Proven experience designing and scaling Playwright frameworks from scratch.
• Strong understanding of: Fixtures and custom test setup in Playwright; Parallel execution and performance optimization; Cross-browser automation strategies; API automation using Playwright or REST libraries.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement end-to-end automation solutions using Playwright across UI, API, and integrated systems.
• Design and build scalable, reusable Playwright frameworks using modern design patterns (POM, fixtures, custom utilities, modular architecture).
• Establish automation standards, folder structures, naming conventions, and governance models.
• Integrate Playwright automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab).
• Drive cross-browser, parallel, and headless execution strategies.
• Implement reporting, logging, debugging, and observability best practices.
• Collaborate with Dev, DevOps, and Product teams to enable shift-left testing.
• Provide technical mentorship to automation engineers and conduct framework/code reviews.
• Evaluate and recommend complementary tools (API automation, mocking, test data management).
• Explore and implement AI-assisted testing techniques (self-healing locators, intelligent test generation, flaky test detection).
