Fastly, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform Security team to drive trust and identity infrastructure for internal services at scale.

This high-impact IC role focuses on designing secure, scalable authentication and access control systems. You will define the long-term vision for trust architecture, collaborate across product, security, compliance, and other engineering teams, and mentor the organization on security best practices while delivering resilient platform

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an individual contributor.
• Strong Linux, networking, and distributed systems background.
• Expertise in Go, Python, or Rust and infrastructure tooling (Terraform, Vault, Consul, Chef).

Responsibilities

• Define long-term vision for trust and identity infrastructure and translate it into tangible execution plans aligned with business goals.
• Design and implement scalable internal trust solutions such as secrets management, PKI, and authentication services.
• Own Complex Challenges: Tackle ambiguous, technically demanding initiatives with multiple stakeholders and organization-wide impact.
• Promote Engineering Excellence: Establish and evangelize technical standards, code quality, reliability, and operational maturity.
