Job summary

Fastly is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Platform Security to own and evolve internal trust and identity infrastructure at scale. You will shape architecture and implement scalable internal authentication services, PKI, and secrets management, collaborating with Product, Security, Compliance and other engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an individual contributor, strong Linux and distributed systems skills, and expertise in Go, Python or Rust, plus Terraform, Vault,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an individual contributor in a technical role.
• Strong systems engineering background with Linux, networking and distributed systems.
• Proficient in modern languages (Go, Python, Rust) and infra tooling (Terraform, Vault, Consul, Chef).

Responsibilities

• Define and shape the long-term vision for trust and identity infra and translate into execution plans.
• Design and implement scalable internal trust solutions (secrets management, PKI, auth services).
• Own complex, cross-functional initiatives with organization-wide impact.
• Partner with Product, Security, Compliance and other Eng teams.
• Promote engineering standards, code quality, reliability and operational maturity.
