Groq, Inc. is seeking a senior security-focused software engineer to lead the design and implementation of security foundations across identity and access, Kubernetes, and multi-tenant infrastructure for our inference platform.

You will set technical direction, build automated security capabilities, and partner with Platform Engineering to ensure scalable, compliant security across the system. The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic leadership.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Experience setting technical direction and owning security architecture across multiple systems or domains.
• Deep experience with identity and access technologies such as OIDC, SAML, SCIM, RBAC, workload identity, short-lived credentials, and MFA.
• Designing security for multi-tenant systems with isolation across compute, network, storage, and control-plane boundaries.
• Hands-on Kubernetes security expertise: RBAC, admission control, service-account/workload identity, secrets/encryption, policy enforcement.

Responsabilités

• Set technical direction and own architecture for platform security capabilities across identity, authorization, infrastructure security, encryption, key management, and auditability.
• Design and build identity and access systems spanning authentication, federation, authorization, workload identity, lifecycle provisioning, and admin access.
• Build and scale security capabilities for Kubernetes and distributed infrastructure using IaC, GitOps, automation, and APIs.
• Architect security controls and isolation for multi-tenant systems across compute, network, storage, and control-plane boundaries.
• Own infrastructure lifecycle security including secure provisioning, secrets management, encryption, and certificate lifecycle.
• Develop production software and automation to make secure infrastructure patterns reliable and scalable.
• Lead security-sensitive platform designs, translating risks into practical engineering decisions and scalable capabilities.
• Shape security architecture and standards across Platform Engineering and related teams.
• Partner with engineering and security to build capabilities that strengthen customer trust and compliance.
• Communicate security architecture, tradeoffs, and risk clearly to engineers and leadership.
