Job summary

Menlo Security is seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain scalable VM and Kubernetes infrastructure across GCP and AWS. You will build IaC pipelines, manage multi-region clusters, and ensure security-first design.

The role emphasizes observability with Grafana Cloud and Prometheus, uses Terraform and Spacelift, and collaborates with Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, and Go.
• Understanding of network topologies, protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, UDP, TLS), and enterprise connectivity.
• Kubernetes expertise including cluster administration, RBAC, networking, workload management, and production troubleshooting.
• Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services including GKE, VPC, Cloud DNS, Artifact Registry, Secret Manager, IAM, Gemini Code Assist, and Workload Identity.
• Clear understanding of how to use LLM-based code-assist tools to effectively build and troubleshoot software.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain VM and Kubernetes infrastructure on GCP and AWS across multiple regions.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform modules and Spacelift, provisioning networking, compute, storage, and security components.
• Build and maintain observability solutions using Grafana Cloud, Prometheus/Mimir, and OTel collectors, designing dashboards and alerting rules.
• Manage certificate lifecycle, DNS automation, ingress controllers, and service mesh networking with Cilium.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Security teams to align requirements and advise on capacity planning, DR, and architecture.
• Identify and eliminate toil through automation — writing scripts, building CI/CD pipelines, and using AI-assisted coding tools.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation as part of a globally distributed team.
