Job summary

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Firmware & Diagnostics Architect to lead the architecture, design, and evolution of firmware and diagnostic technologies for high-performance computing and hardware acceleration systems.

You will define long-term platform firmware strategy, telemetry, observability, validation, and automated recovery while collaborating with hardware, software, validation, manufacturing, and customer support teams to improve reliability and root-cause

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD with extensive firmware or diagnostics experience.
• 12+ years in firmware, embedded systems, platform software, or hardware diagnostics.
• Strong C/C++ for embedded systems and low-level debugging.
• Proven architecture of complex firmware or diagnostics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define platform architecture for firmware, diagnostics, telemetry, and health-monitoring frameworks.
• Develop scalable platform management and automated recovery solutions.
• Establish cross-generation diagnostic frameworks across products.
• Partner with hardware architects to improve serviceability and debuggability.
• Define proactive health monitoring and predictive fault detection strategies.
• Improve system resiliency with intelligent diagnostics and recovery mechanisms.
• Lead board bring-up, system validation, manufacturing test, and field diagnostics.
• Drive design reviews and technical readiness assessments for new products.
