Job summary

F5 Networks, Inc in the United States seeks a Principal Firmware/Diagnostics Engineer to lead the development of secure, serviceable firmware across the product lifecycle. You will guide architecture, drive roadmap execution, and mentor engineers within the Hardware Development Team.

You will set standards for secure boot, code signing, measured boot, and vulnerability remediation, collaborate across functions, and ensure high-quality releases with traceable artifacts.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent; MS in CS desirable.
• 10+ years embedded/firmware experience.
• Expertise in ARM/x86, embedded Linux, secure elements, and measured boot.
• Strong debugging with oscilloscope/logic analyzer/JTAG.
• Experience with UEFI BIOS, IPMI, Redfish.
• Experience with A/B, rollback protections and firmware upgrade strategies.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead firmware and diagnostics design for new products.
• Define secure boot, code signing, anti-rollback protections, measured boot, vulnerability remediation, and incident response.
• Lead firmware and diagnostics design for new products, including architecture definition, functional specifications, and requirements development. Work with cross-functional teams to align requirements and shepherd PRDs into executable plans.
