Job summary

Zoro's Senior Platform Software Engineer will join the Enterprise Platform Engineering group to build core infrastructure trusted by more than 20 engineering teams, improving developer velocity, reliability, and customer experiences.

You’ll design and ship scalable platform services, lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, and translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, balancing short-term needs with long-term vision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years building, testing, and operating complex backend or platform systems in production.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Java, or equivalent with knowledge of others.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable distributed systems in cloud environments and IaC (Terraform preferred).
• Deep expertise in CI/CD, testing frameworks, and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus).
• Hands-on experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes, Cloud Run).
• Experience in on-call rotations and debugging production issues across services.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex tech to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering workflows to maintain code quality and reliability.

• Advocate responsible adoption of agentic software engineering practices.
