Job summary

Sydecar is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build the internal developer platform and CI/CD pipelines, while scaling shared services and cloud infrastructure. This hybrid role is based in San Francisco or New York City with in-office days two to three per week.

You will mentor engineers, drive platform reliability, security, and developer velocity, and partner with product teams to deliver scalable foundations for the engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software/platform engineering experience.
• Experience with TypeScript/Node.js is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and IaC (Terraform).
• Observability, logging, metrics, tracing experience.
• Proven ability to improve developer velocity and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve the internal developer platform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design, operate, and scale core shared services and cloud infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Advance release automation and test automation for safe production releases.
• Strengthen the platform's security posture and contribute to a distributed security practice.
• Collaborate with product teams to set standards and enablement across the engineering org.
• Lead projects from concept through deployment, mentor engineers, and shape the platform roadmap.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and operations.
