Job summary

Decagon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build and evolve our internal developer platform—everything from CI/CD and release automation to observability standards, platform tooling, and developer workflows that remove friction.

This role is for someone who loves making other engineers faster: reducing build times, eliminating flaky tests, creating paved roads for service creation and deployment, and raising the bar on operability by default.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building production software in platform/infrastructure roles.
• Proficient in Python or TypeScript/JS and developer tooling.
• Experience with CI/CD systems and scalable pipelines.
• Experience with observability in production systems.

Responsibilities

• Developer productivity & platform tooling: identify workflow bottlenecks and build tools to reduce toil.
• CI/CD & release engineering: design pipelines that are fast, safe, and reusable across repos/services.
• Observability & operational excellence: establish shared observability primitives and improve operability (SLOs, dashboards).
• Infrastructure foundations: build and improve core platform capabilities for running and scaling services.
• Ownership & reliability: own systems end-to-end and improve reliability in production.
