Job summary

Okta is seeking an experienced Platform Infra Engineer to build and scale a scalable runtime across Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure. You will own architectural decisions for cross-cutting concerns, drive platform best practices, and optimize performance and cost while operating in a fully distributed team.

The role requires 5–8 years of software development with deep Golang, Terraform, and Kubernetes expertise, plus experience with incident response and RCAs.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of software development experience.
• Deep technical expertise in Golang, Terraform, Kubernetes, and major cloud providers (AWS/Azure).
• Demonstrable experience architecting distributed systems and making complex technical tradeoffs.
• Strong operational experience leading incident response, RCAs, and implementing preventative measures.
• Experience experimenting with AI models and working on a fully distributed (remote) team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a scalable platform runtime using infrastructure-as-code across Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure.
• Architect scalable, resilient infrastructure solutions for cross-cutting concerns while setting platform best practices.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and advocate for new technologies to enhance resiliency, scale, and cost.
• Design secure-by-default infrastructure and collaborate with security teams for compliance.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives end-to-end and mentor junior engineers.
• Participate in on-call rotations and use company-approved AI tools for engineering.
