Job summary

Oracle is seeking a hands-on engineer for OCI Kubernetes Engine in Denver. You will design, implement, and operate distributed systems, focusing on networking, storage, and Linux-based infrastructure.

Expect to drive reliability, tooling, and automation across teams. You will own components end-to-end, debug complex issues, and contribute to on-call incident response, with collaboration across OCI and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Five or more years of software engineering experience building, delivering, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience developing and maintaining large Java or Go codebases, plus Python tooling.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
• Systematic debugging and independent problem-solving with ownership.
• Clear written and verbal communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own components within OKE platform services from design to operation.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues across distributed services with safe upgrades.
• Analyze usage, performance and error budgets to improve resilience and capacity.
• Lead automated testing, deployment tooling, and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with OCI teams and external partners to deliver integrated solutions.
• Create and maintain technical docs, examples, and adoption guidance.
• Participate in on-call rotation to investigate incidents and restore service.
