Job summary

Oracle’s Network Region Build team seeks a Principal Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and maintain production software supporting OCI network deployment and lifecycle management. You will build platforms, automation, and engineering systems powering OCI regions and AI data centers worldwide.

You will own services through their lifecycle, collaborate with Network and Infrastructure teams, and drive operational excellence, scalability, and reliability in a fast-changing cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• Strong software engineering experience in Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Experience designing scalable APIs, distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures.
• Design software architectures that emphasize modularity and maintainability.
• Experience building and operating production engineering platforms.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software practices.
• Experience supporting Linux-based production environments.
• Experience designing highly available, observable systems, with automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production software supporting OCI network deployment and lifecycle management.
• Build and evolve engineering platforms, APIs, automation services, and operational systems for OCI infrastructure.
• Own software solutions through architecture, implementation, deployment, and operations.
• Develop scalable automation using modern programming languages and best practices.
• Collaborate with Network, Infrastructure, and Network Automation teams to scale operations.
• Design and implement resilient, observable, and highly available platform services.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment workflows, and release processes.
• Troubleshoot production software and networking issues across distributed systems.
• Lead technical design discussions and influence long-term NRB architecture.
• Develop technical documentation, standards, runbooks, and best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development while validating outputs.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement by simplifying operations via automation.
