Job summary

SandboxAQ seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to develop infrastructure, tooling, and pipelines for a Medical Device product, spanning embedded Linux to cloud. This hands-on role emphasizes treating infrastructure as a product and ensuring patient safety is prioritized over speed.

You will own the platform stack from device fleet management to cloud deployments, with a focus on secure, auditable, and scalable delivery pipelines in a remote, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform/DevOps/infra engineering in AWS with ownership of production CI/CD and release systems.
• Linux-based systems and fleets of networked/IoT devices, including OTA update strategies.
• Experience delivering software in regulated/safety-critical environments, preferably medical devices.
• Experience with Mender or embedded OTA update systems.
• Security and data privacy depth including audit logging, PKI, and secure data transmission.

Responsibilities

• Own the build, signing, rollout, rollback, and per-device configuration for in-field Linux kiosk fleet and update mechanisms.
• Own CI/CD, test-gated promotion, controlled approvals, and release traceability across cloud and device software.
• Build observability, alerting, reliability, backup, recovery, auditability, and security controls; create tooling for safe paths.
• Operate AWS infrastructure foundation, Terraform-based, focused on reliability and security.
• Establish golden paths and self-service tools to empower engineers to deploy independently.
