Job summary

Raytheon Technologies (RTX) seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to design, implement, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure supporting mission-critical systems. You will contribute to traditional infrastructure and modern DevOps/DevSecOps, ensuring seamless integration of evolving architectures and security controls.

You will automate routine operations, drive performance improvements, and participate in TEMs to share status and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and at least 5 years of related experience.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and Linux-based tools.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Java, Perl, Ruby, or Tcl/Tk.
• Experience with markup languages, including YML, XML, and JSON.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and Bitbucket.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance is required after Day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure solutions, including compute, storage, and networking systems.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, Java, Perl, Ruby, or Tcl/Tk to streamline system operations and deployments.
• Manage and maintain the COTS stack, ensuring consistent versioning across the platform.
• Utilize markup languages (YML, XML, JSON) and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and Bitbucket to enhance system functionality.
• Support software deployment and integration processes to meet program requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system design and architecture using emerging technologies.
• Participate in Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) and provide project status updates as required.
• Ensure compliance with security requirements and standards while supporting system upgrades and updates.
