Job summary

Pearson is modernizing its content platform with hands‑on principal engineering leadership. You will own multiple technology tracks, design target systems, and migrate large content/data, while building reusable capabilities and secure, scalable APIs.

You will work across teams to set standards, mentor engineers, and drive architecture decisions. 12+ years of production software experience and a strong Java/Spring/Node/React background are expected.

Qualifications

12+ years building and operating production software.
4+ years at staff or principal level, or as technical lead across several teams or a large multi‑service system.
Experience re‑platforming or legacy migration of a production system with active users and data.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Write production code where the risk is highest and review the hardest changes from other engineers.
Unblock hard technical problems that span systems, teams, or domains.
Lead migrations of large volumes of content and data with verification that nothing is lost for downstream products.
Define long‑term technical roadmaps and standards across teams.
