Job summary

Capital Technology Group seeks a Sr Platform Engineer Lead to steer design, automation, and reliability of cloud platforms powering federal systems. You will set technical direction, raise reliability standards, and mentor engineers across DevOps and platform teams.

Responsibilities include building scalable cloud platforms, IaC governance, CI/CD pipelines, incident response, and exploring new technologies through PoCs. Strong collaboration with product and security is required.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, including leadership
• Experience with governance, change management, and shared enterprise services
• Strong hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, IaC and cloud workloads
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and monitoring/observability tools
• Scripting/automation skills in Bash, Python, or Go; SQL knowledge

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and evolution of secure, scalable cloud platforms
• Own infrastructure-as-code standards with Terraform or similar
• Design, automate, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe delivery
• Define reliability practices: SLIs, SLOs, monitoring, alerting, observability
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortems
• Build automation to reduce manual work and improve resilience
• Create runbooks for troubleshooting, maintenance, and DR
• Evaluate new technologies via prototypes and PoCs
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready solutions
• Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and platform decisions
• Mentor engineers and establish platform engineering standards
