Job summary

Capital Technology Group is seeking a Sr Platform Engineer Lead to drive the design, automation, and reliability of cloud platforms supporting federal systems. You will lead DevOps practices, guide architecture decisions, and elevate team capabilities in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment.

The role emphasizes automation, IaC, incident response, and collaboration with product, security, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 9+ years of professional DevOps/platform engineering, including leadership.
• Experience with governance processes, standards, change management, or shared services.
• Ability to articulate resource needs, tradeoffs, risks, and decisions for product leadership.
• Strong hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Linux, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab).

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, build, and evolution of secure, scalable cloud platforms.
• Own IaC standards and Terraform implementation.
• Design, automate, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe software delivery.
• Define reliability practices with SLIs, SLOs, monitoring, alerting, and observability.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortems for production issues.
• Mentor engineers and establish platform engineering standards and best practices.
