Job summary
American Family Insurance Agency Staff is seeking a Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud and DevOps capabilities across AWS and GCP. You will enable reliable delivery by advancing Backstage, IaC with Terraform, and Kubernetes tooling, while improving developer experience across teams.
You will work in a flex office/home setup with multiple office locations (Denver, CO and others) and relocation support for eligible candidates.
Qualifications
- Experience designing and operating internal developer portal with Backstage.io
- Ability to create self-service tools and streamline workflows
- Experience developing Backstage plugins with TypeScript, Node.js, React
- Configuring Backstage Software Catalog for unified view of services
- Maintaining software templates with Backstage Scaffolder
Responsibilities
- Design and operate cloud platform capabilities across AWS and GCP
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and IaC foundations
- Drive automation, observability, and reliability practices
- Collaborate across engineering to improve developer experience
- Implement and manage Kubernetes platforms and tooling
