Job summary

Stacklok is seeking a Senior Engineer to own core platform subsystems for Stacklok Enterprise. You will design and deliver production-ready subsystems end to end, mentoring engineers and guiding architecture through implementation and production rollout.

You will work on reliability, observability, and scalable infrastructure behind customer firewalls, shaping the platform that supports enterprise AI agents while collaborating with founders who helped co-create Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Deep proficiency in Go, building production-grade backend or platform systems.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies in production environments.
• Proven track record designing and shipping complete systems end to end from architecture to production.
• Tech lead experience: mentoring engineers, driving code review, raising team quality.
• Experience designing for reliability and observability with monitoring and testing.
• Familiarity with MCP or building platform services like gateways or runtimes.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and implementation of platform subsystems end to end, from design through production.
• Anchor meaningful projects and balance reliability, scalability, and time to market.
• Write production-ready code with observability, testing, and error handling built in.
• Create design docs and work breakdowns for the team to plan against.
• Mentor SWE and SWE II engineers and contribute to code-review culture.
• Contribute to technical decisions with leads, product, and engineering leadership.
• Contribute to the open source ToolHive codebase and collaborate with community contributors.
