Job summary

Stacklok is seeking a Senior Engineer to own core platform subsystems, with a focus on secure, scalable infrastructure behind customer firewalls. You will ship end-to-end subsystems, mentor engineers, and drive design decisions across teams.

You will contribute to production-grade platforms, leverage Kubernetes, and integrate AI-assisted workflows to improve velocity while maintaining reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• Proficient Go backend development with production-grade systems experience.
• Strong Kubernetes knowledge and container orchestration in production.
• Experience designing and shipping end-to-end platform subsystems.
• Proven tech lead experience: mentoring, code reviews, quality uplift.
• Design-for-reliability and observability with monitoring and testing in mind.
• Experience with platform services and deployment tooling; MCP familiarity a plus.
• AI-first mindset to integrate AI tools for velocity gains.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; thrives in fast, ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Own subsystem design and end-to-end implementation in production.
• Anchor major projects and balance reliability, scalability, and speed to market.
• Write production-ready code with observability and robust error handling.
• Create design docs and work breakdowns for the team.
• Mentor SWE/SWE II and promote strong code-review practices.
• Collaborate on technical decisions with leads, product, and engineering leadership.
• Contribute to ToolHive open-source code and engage with the community.
