Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer – GitHub DevOps & Cloud Automation to design scalable, self-service platform capabilities for rapid software delivery across hybrid and cloud environments.

You will deploy GitHub Enterprise-based DevOps platforms, automate CI/CD via GitHub Actions, and implement GitOps with ArgoCD, Terraform, and IaC practices. Strong focus on observability and security is expected.

Qualifications

10+ years of Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability or Cloud Architecture.
Strong expertise with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, repository governance and CI/CD automation.
Extensive experience with Kubernetes, including EKS and GKE.
Hands-on Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience.
Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud platforms in AWS.
Proficiency in Python scripting and automation.

Responsibilities

Design and build self-service platform capabilities for provisioning infrastructure.
Architect GitHub Enterprise-based DevOps platforms and governance models.
Develop CI/CD solutions using GitHub Actions, GitOps, and IaC.
Create reusable platform components and automation workflows for deployments.
Build scalable Kubernetes platforms across cloud environments (AWS/GCP/AZure).
Automate lifecycle management using Terraform and cloud-native services.
Improve platform reliability with Datadog, Prometheus and Grafana observability.
Collaborate on DevSecOps, policy automation and security controls.
Design disaster recovery and backup strategies for mission-critical platforms.
Implement GitOps using ArgoCD; explore AI-powered platform enhancements.
