Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer – GitHub DevOps & Cloud Automation to design scalable, self-service platform capabilities that accelerate software delivery and improve developer productivity. You will build GitHub Enterprise-based DevOps platforms, Kubernetes platforms, IaC, CI/CD modernization, and GitOps with ArgoCD across hybrid and cloud environments.

You will architect Terraform-driven infrastructure, automate delivery pipelines, and drive reliable, cost-effective operations

Qualifications

10+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Architecture.
Strong expertise with GitHub Enterprise, Actions, repo governance, and CI/CD automation.
Kubernetes experience including AWS EKS and GKE.
Terraform and IaC design/implementation.
Experience building enterprise cloud platforms on AWS.
Python scripting and automation skills.
Experience with GitOps using ArgoCD.
Security, RBAC, and policy automation awareness.

Responsibilities

Design and build self-service platform capabilities for infrastructure provisioning.
Architect GitHub Enterprise-based DevOps platforms and governance models.
Develop CI/CD solutions using GitHub Actions, GitOps, and IaC.
Create reusable platform components and automation workflows.
Build Kubernetes-based platforms across cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc).
Automate lifecycle management with Terraform and cloud-native services.
Improve reliability with observability tools like Datadog/Prometheus/Grafana.
Collaborate with dev, security, and operations for DevSecOps and compliance.
Design DR/backups and resilient architectures for critical platforms.
Lead, mentor, and provide architectural guidance to teams.
