Job summary

Chainguard seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform team in New York with remote-friendly options. You will design and build backend services and public APIs used across Chainguard products, partnering with Product and Experience teams to deliver reliable features customers rely on daily.

You’ll own features end-to-end—from design through rollout—drive technical designs, and contribute to a roadmap.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production services and APIs in a modern cloud environment.
• Proficiency with Go (Golang) or readiness to ramp quickly.
• Experience with microservices and cloud-native architectures (containers, Kubernetes).
• Experience designing public APIs used across multiple products or services.
• Strong communication and collaboration with PMs, designers, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve backend services and APIs consumed across product lines.
• Own features end-to-end from design through rollout and iteration.
• Create technical design documents and drive design plans with clarity.
• Contribute to a product-driven roadmap with clear outcomes and deadlines.
